Berry Update

The next varieties of blueberries are well on their way.  We once again have lots of blueberries available for picking.  There are also lots of red raspberries available. Some are over ripe but many are just right.  Now if the rain would stop long enough for people to come and enjoy picking.  Sure beats a drought though.  we are still trying to get our bottom hay field baled.

We have had several berry pickers over the last few days that have picked most of the RIPENED red raspberries and blueberries.  We will have more ready within the next 3 or 4 days.  We do still have lots of black raspberries that are ready now, so come see us and pick your fresh berries.

You can make it a great day of family fun by visiting Grandpa Jeff's Trail Rides across the street when your done picking berries.  They have beautiful trails you can see on horseback and tell him that Zink Berry Farms sent you.  Have a good day and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Berry update July 22, 2013

Today is Monday July 22, 2013 and the first few blackberries were picked.  The blueberries are still coming on but they will need a few days to ripen again.  We had pickers come from Cincinnati and they picked what there was available this morning.  The red raspberries are working on forming fruit for the fall crop.  We were closed last Friday, Saturday and Sunday and had a refreshing break from work.  We went camping with my youngest son and his family.  I went tubing behind a boat with Cameron one of my grandsons and I think I may have broken my nose!  It looks crooked and is a little harder to breathe through but I had a blast!!  While we were gone we did have some pickers who did leave money for their berries and I thank them for their honesty.  I would wait until the end of the week for blueberries and blackberries. that should give them a chance to have enough ripen to be worth the drive to pick.  I want to thank everyone who has come and picked and visited with us and our critters....they enjoy the attention too.  Jill

Berry Update

The blueberries are still producing and we still have many more to ripen.  It may be best to call ahead for a berry update since we have had folks come pick everyday and they seem to be keeping up with the berry output.  The blackberries are still a few weeks away and the red raspberries are starting to form berries for a nice fall crop.  Call 765-346-9813 for the latest berry update.  Thanks Jill Zink

Berry Update

The blueberries have been keeping up with demand until now.  We have had 30-40 pounds per day being picked.  I would recommend that if you want to pick blueberries that you wait until Friday the 5th of July just to give them a chance to ripen some more.  We don't want anyone to make a drive and be disappointed with the amount available.  There are still a bunch of bushes that are just starting to have a few berries ripen so there will be many more days to pick.  We have 8 different varieties and so they all ripen at a different time.  Our hours for the holiday is closed the 4th and reopen 8am the 5th of July.  We hope you all have a safe 4th of July and we look forward to seeing you after the holiday.  Thanks Jill Zink
