This jersy calf (Peanut) and buckling deer (Mr. Buttons) loved to play together. They would be fed a bottle at the same time and then we would leave Peanut out to play with Buttons until he would finally wonder off into the woods until time for a bottle.  He didn't always come back like Maggie mae and Lucky.  He would skip meals and just worry me to death.  I remember maggie coming to eat corn and she had brought her new baby with her.  Her baby wasn't about to get close though it was very shy.  Anyway Maggie would chase Buttons and was down right hateful to him.  I can remember sitting on the porch with her and as she started to go after Buttons I scolded her (just told her I thought she should be nice to him) and reminded her that he was just a baby like she had been last year.  I swear on a stack of bibles......she ended up adopting him and letting him nurse!!!!  It was the most amazing thing.  I know in my heart that God had a hand in that. Anyway this is one of my favorite pics of the two giving kisses.  My unusual friends picture!!  I actually have video on my phone of Maggie Mae and Lucky when they were yearlings cleaning Craigs eyes and licking his face.  Craig is our Great Pyranese dog who was a Mr. Mom to Maggie, Lucky,  and Buttons!!

This right before deer season started. Mr. Buttons would still come by for some corn and a visit. Our baby has sure grown!!

If you look real close Peanut has his eyes shut like he is anticipating this lesson to hurt. Holstein was like a Mr. mom to peanut though and was a big gentle giant.

We opened up the hay field that connects to the woods for them to browse. Another year another drought.
